Limited Edition Sapele Griller

As Father’s day looms, we’re offering a Limited Edition of four hybrid BBQ/Chef’s knives made from a lovely piece of Sapele that we’ve had in our stash since time immemorial. It’s a fantastically durable and subtly patterned heart wood. Sapele is often used in place of Mahogany (which is on the CITES II List), but it’s very rare to find a piece that can actually do a credible job of standing in its place, either aesthetically or functionally. The heartwood piece we have will be sufficient for around a dozen sets of these knives, and we’re unlikely to come across it’s like again, as it’s both full of life and detail and wonderfully dense and hard-wearing.

The set itself offers the outdoor cook and BBQer a fantastic set of blades that will prep, carve, slice, chop and slither its way through everything from preparing a big bit of sirloin on the bone or filleting a monkfish, across to the meticulous chopping of salsa and the carving of a whole fillet.
